Firecapture on Mac - posted in Astronomy Software & Computers: I tried installing Firecapture 2.6 on my Mac but it never opens. It just mounts under disk utilities. I installed it on Windows 10 via Parallels but when i launch it the text of the Firecapture applciation is so tiny I cannot read it. Libre trainsim mac os. Apple announced a number of new Macintosh models based on an Intel dual-core processor rather than the traditional PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) series chips. This change is largely transparent to users, but significant to developers.On an Intel-based Macintosh, programs run under one of two modes. Programs originally compiled for PowerPC Macintoshes will run under an emulation environment called 'Rosetta' on the Intel Macs. Rosetta applications should work they way they always have, although there may be some performance penalty (they may run slower,potentially much slower, depending on the application). The other mode is a 'Universal Binary'. These (newer) applications will run on either PowerPC or Intel Macintoshes with full native performance on both platforms. You'll start to see these applications now that Apple has released the Intel Macs.
Luckily, we've been preparing for the Intel switch for some time here at the CrystalFire Software megacomplex. Our new Intel Mac has been delivered, and we've tested for compatibility of our software packages with the Intel Mac. Note that the Intel processor is very new, and no amount of testing can find every bug. So if you discover an error that we missed, let us know and we'll get it fixed.

Here's the current status of our software on Intel-based Macintoshes:
- The Oregon Landscape Pack consists of just JPEG images, so it's unaffected by platform.
- CrystalFire Wormhole will run under Rosetta. A new, Universal Binary version will be available– hopefully in a couple of months–for Mac OS 10.3 and 10.4, and Windows 2000 and XP. This will be a free upgrade for registered Wormhole users.
- CrystalFire Diet Allowance will run under Rosetta. Sales of this product have been very poor, so it has been discontinued, and will not be updated to a Universal Binary
- The new CrystalFire Flash Comet is a Universal Binary, and will run natively on all platforms.
CrystalFire Software Microsoft 'Vista' Information
Microsoft Windows Vista (the successor to Windows XP) is starting to ship to business customers, and will be available for consumers in early 2007. We're testing our software with it now. Current results: Flashcomet works fine in Windows Vista. Wormhole has minor connection issues (see the Wormhole FAQ for details), and an update is in the works. CroPL fully supports Vista.
